Hi there, I’m Nicola and I joined GOG in 2003, when I moved back to the area having been away since flying the nest to go to Uni ... I was looking to meet new people and to get out and about in our beautiful countryside, and so GOG was the natural choice! Highlights to date include mountain walking in Scotland, all of the camping and walking weekends, and my first Euro city break with the group to Prague.  Besides our great outdoors, my other passions in life include world travel, preferably in wilderness – I’ve overlanded in Africa for six weeks and South America for six months [indulge me this opportunity to show off!], and the performing arts, particularly music [thank God for U2!], theatre [go see Kneehigh] and dance [I do my own thing]. I’m Business Manager of one of south England’s foremost touring theatre companies, and a student of Astrology! I was delighted to be re-elected as Publicity Officer in November 2007, and I look forward to picking up your enquiry and welcoming you to an event in the near future.

Hi. I'm Tim. In 2004 my heart was longing to be out walking through the countryside, having not done much of that since leaving university in 1999. Being a cartographer I was also missing the chance to be able to make use of my collection maps and guidebooks, some of which dated back to 1848! So I joined GOG. I soon learnt that there was more to the group than just walking, with many other social activities on offer. I have hiked in the UK, Austria, France, Poland and even into Switzerland & Germany, literally crossing their borders on foot! I love filming and taking photos, believing that people and scenery go hand in hand. I think music, from heavy rock to traditional Austrian folk, is fantastic, especially live. It was the 53 year old suitcase of GOG archives that enticed me on to the committee, as ever since I heard about this box I had wanted to find out what was inside.
